Mini Japanese Lesson

Since I am half Japanese I felt it important for our children to learn some of the language.  I hope to someday take them to Japan so that they can see and learn some of their heritage.  Recently we started learning with mini lessons each day and thought I would share one of the songs we sing.

My husband made up this song and the kids love to sing it.

It is in the tune of “Frere Jacques “

You point to the body parts as you sing.

Hana  (nose) Kuchi (mouth)
Hana Kuchi

A ta ma (head)
A ta ma

Mi Mi (ear)
Mi Mi

Me (eye)(pronounced with a short e)
Me

Mi Mi
Mi Mi

Me
Me

Oh na ka (stomach)
Oh na ka

We like to sing Oh na ka with a deeper voice and push our tummy’s in.
